Wood Mouse Original Hand Embroidery
Original hand embroidery of a Woof Mouse as part of my 'British WIldlife' collection. The piece took approximately 40 hours to complete using a blend of ten shades of stranded cottons. I used silk shading techniques to replicate the soft texture of the wood mouse's coat. Each stitch was carefully considered to create the direction and movement of the fur. It is stitched onto a background of ivory cotton felt.
This is one of a collection of eight pieces depicting some of the most iconic creatures found on the British Isles.
The embroidery is mounted on acid free card and elegently framed in a plain white wooden box frame to maintain the focus on the work. It is set behind museum quality UV protective, non-reflective glass and is ready for display.
