Create your own Deerfield Style embroidery design using tones of turquoise –blue stranded cotton threads on a background of white printed cotton denim fabric.

This beautiful design will introduce you to many of the stitches and techniques which are typically found in the art of Deerfield embroidery, a technique originating in the town of Deerfield, Massachusetts, USA. The style is easily recognised for the use of tones of blue thread on white fabric to depict scrolling leaves, whimsical birds and beautiful flowers. Despite its’s great similarity to Crewelwork in the type of stitches used, Deerfield embroidery typically has a few extras, three of which are included in this design.

The stitches included in this design are: trellis stitch, seeding stitch, honeycomb buttonhole, fanned buttonhole, woven bands, french knots, coral stitch, woven wheels, roumanian couching, back stitch and crows feet.

This kit includes all of the threads, fabrics and needles required to complete this charming hand embroidery design and the clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project.

Should you wish to complete more of the printed design, there will be plenty of stranded cotton thread left over to do so, have fun with it!
