Crewel Work Clock


Learn the beautiful embroidery technique of Crewel Work to create this pretty clock design. Appleton wool threads in vibrant tones of yellow, orange, brown and green are used to build up the design onto a background of printed half-panama cotton linen fabric which is then mounted around board and the clock mechanism added.

This simple design will introduce you to many of the stitches and techniques which are essential in the art of Crewel Work embroidery including: split stitch, shaded fly stitch, shaded laid work, long and short stitch, woven bars, bullion knots, block shading, turkey rug stitch and french knots.
