Crewel Work Woodland Animals
Crewel work refers to the traditional hand embroidery technique which uses wool threads on a background of linen twill. This design is based on the lavish Jacobean style which became popular using the crewel work technique during the 17th Century.
With all of the fabrics, threads, needles and other materials required included in this kit, you too will be able to create this beautiful hand embroidery woodland animals design. The clear step by step instructions with additional diagrams and photographs will guide you easily through your project.
The stitches used to create the design include: stem stitch, chain stitch, detached chain stitch, split stitch, long and short stitch, trellis stitch, french knots, block shading, buttonhole stitch, herringbone stitch, seeding stitch and satin stitch.
Each kit contains: linen twill, Appleton wools, needles, design and instructions and is suitable for all skill levels.
In addition you will need an 10 inch ring frame and embroidery scissors to complete this kit.
