Combine the beautiful embroidery technique of metal thread work with decorative surface stitching to create this vibrant Rainbow Lorikeet feather design.

This simple design will introduce you to working with a range of metal threads in gilt, copper and bright colours using the techniques of cutwork, chipping and couching, all of which are essential when creating a piece of metal thread work. These are combined with decorative long and short embroidery stitch. 

This kit includes all of the threads, fabrics and needles required to complete this beautiful hand embroidery design and the clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project.

The ivory cotton background fabric is provided with the design already printed on for you.

Materials included in the kit: calico and ivory cotton fabrics, embroidery needles, plunging needle, DMC stranded cotton thread, guttermann machine thread, gilt metal threads - pearl purl and japanese thread, copper metal purl purl thread, coloured metal purl and check purl threads and beeswax. 

Difficulty level: beginner to intermediate

Additional equipment required: 8 inch ring frame and goldwork scissors (not essential)
